Wig Washing

 Wash Instructions

Before washing your wig or hair piece, gently remove any tangles by brushing.

Fill a sink with cool water and fully submerge the wig or hair piece. Apply a small amount of synthetic‑safe wig shampoo and emulsify it through the hair. It’s important to use products specifically formulated for wig fibers to maintain longevity and performance.

Gently lather the shampoo while keeping the hair moving in the same direction—avoid rubbing or twisting, as this can cause tangling. Rinse thoroughly in cool water until the water runs clear.

Make sure to wash interior of cap to remove makeup and skin oils!

Tip: Never use hot water on a synthetic wig. Heat can damage the fibers, cause frizzing, and permanently alter the texture and curl pattern of your wig.

Frequency: I personally wash every 7 to 10 wears.

Dry Instructions

Wrap the wig or hair piece in a towel and gently pat to remove excess water.

Do not use a brush on a wet human‑hair wig—use a wide‑tooth comb to detangle gently.

Place on wig stand to air dry, never blow dry your wig.

Steaming a Wig

Steaming a synthetic wig is a gentle, heat‑safe way to refresh the fibers, smooth frizz, and reshape the style without risking damage from direct heat tools. Using a handheld steamer on the lowest setting, hold the steam several inches away from the hair and work in small sections, keeping the fibers moving so no area overheats. This method is especially helpful for taming nape tangles, loosening overly tight curls, or resetting the overall shape of the wig. Always avoid touching the fibers while they’re hot—let them cool in place so the style sets smoothly and maintains its structure.
